You don’t have to take up all the space in your photograph. It’s okay to take a photo of something if it takes up most of the shot. You should keep distractions away from your shot
Tip 2: Study Forms
Photography is all about understanding forms. This will help you to understand the forms of your photos. You can’t see an object. Instead, you need to understand its form and shape. Then find the best angle from which to photograph it.It is everywhere around us, so I recommend that you read as many books as you can.
Tip 3: Motion in Your Photos
If you’re photographing still objects, the motion should not be included in your photos. Your photo will not turn out as well if you try to photograph a stationary object while it is moving. You should never place a horizon line in your frame.
Tip 4: Learn to Use Contrasts between Colors.
The best photos are made with shades of black, gray, and white. Although you can get great photos with only one color, the contrasts between different colors are what make you a great photographer.
Tip 5: Get closer to your subject
Photographers make the most common mistake of not getting close enough. You need to get up close and personal with your subject. While you can always resize and shape a great shot, it is impossible to continue blowing up distant objects.
Tip 6: Shutter Lag
Shutter lags can make it difficult to shoot action shots with digital cameras. Shutter lags can cause problems when taking action shots with digital cameras. It can take up to one second for the shutter button to open, and by then the subject you are photographing may have changed or moved. You can compensate for shutter lag, by anticipating what your subject will do and then taking the shot just before the action takes place. This problem is not present in more expensive digital cameras.
Tip 7 β Pan
Pan with the object when you take an action shot. You will get a great shot if you follow through with your subject from beginning to end.If you take multiple photos, your chances of getting a great shot are higher.
Tip 8 – Continuous Shots
You will need a continuous shot camera, which can be used to pan as I mentioned above. It doesn’t have to stop or process every shot.
Tip 9: How to Take Amazing Nighttime Shots
If done correctly, night shots can look amazing…. They can also look terrible. It’s really terrible. If the photographer isn’t skilled in lighting, even a good camera can produce terrible photos.
Tip 10: Study Your Manual
If your digital camera features a night mode, make sure you read the instructions and follow them.

Distemper in Puppies vs. Adult Dogs: How the Virus Affects Dogs at Different Life Stages
Canine distemper is one of the most serious viral diseases that dogs can face. Itβs caused by the Canine Distemper Virus (CDV), which affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems. Understanding how distemper affects dogs differently depending on their age is crucial in protecting both puppies and adult dogs from this potentially deadly virus. This article explores the key differences in how distemper manifests and impacts puppies versus adult dogs, along with how you can safeguard your furry friends through proper care and timely veterinary consultations.
What is Canine Distemper?
Canine distemper is a highly contagious and potentially fatal viral disease. It spreads through airborne transmission or direct contact with infected animals or surfaces. Unvaccinated puppies and dogs are at the highest risk of contracting the virus, which is why vaccinations play a critical role in preventing its spread. The virus can lead to severe illness, and while early treatment can help, prevention through vaccination is always better.
For any concerns or questions about your dog’s health, you can visit Danielles Den Veterinary Clinic. Their expert team provides top-notch care and advice to ensure your pet stays healthy and protected from diseases like distemper.
Distemper in Puppies
Why Puppies are More Vulnerable
Puppies are significantly more susceptible to distemper because their immune systems are not fully developed. Before they are vaccinated, puppies have little to no protection against the virus, making them extremely vulnerable, especially in high-risk environments like shelters or breeding facilities.
Symptoms in Puppies
The signs of distemper in puppies often start with respiratory issues such as nasal discharge, coughing, and fever. As the virus progresses, puppies may experience vomiting, diarrhea, and neurological symptoms like seizures and paralysis. Unfortunately, due to their weaker immune systems, puppies often develop severe complications faster than adult dogs.
Challenges in Treatment
Treating distemper in puppies can be challenging due to their fragility. They often require intensive care, including fluids, nutrition support, and medications. Their smaller bodies make it difficult to administer certain treatments, which can complicate their recovery.
Prognosis for Puppies
The prognosis for puppies with distemper is often more guarded than for adult dogs. Even with treatment, the virus can cause permanent damage, especially to the nervous system. Puppies may experience long-term health issues such as tremors, seizures, or weakened immune systems.
Distemper in Adult Dogs
Adult Dogsβ Immune Response
Adult dogs generally have stronger immune systems, especially if they have been vaccinated. This gives them a much better chance of fighting off the virus. While they can still contract distemper, their immune response is usually more effective at controlling the infection.
Symptoms in Adult Dogs
Like puppies, adult dogs with distemper will exhibit symptoms that affect their respiratory, gastrointestinal, and neurological systems. However, if theyβve been vaccinated, the symptoms tend to be milder. The virus may still cause complications such as chronic respiratory problems or neurological issues, but these are less common in healthy, vaccinated adult dogs.
Treatment for Adult Dogs
Treatment for adult dogs is typically more manageable than for puppies. Adult dogs can handle medications and interventions more effectively. They require supportive care, such as fluids and anti-seizure medications, but often recover faster due to their stronger immune systems.
Prognosis for Adult Dogs
The prognosis for adult dogs with distemper is generally better than for puppies. If caught early and treated promptly, most adult dogs have a good chance of recovery. They are also less likely to suffer from long-term complications.
Key Differences Between Distemper in Puppies and Adult Dogs
Immune System Development: Puppiesβ underdeveloped immune systems leave them more vulnerable to severe cases of distemper. Adult dogs, especially those vaccinated, have stronger defenses against the virus.
Vaccination: Timely vaccination is critical for puppies, as they are at the highest risk. For adult dogs, booster shots help maintain immunity and provide protection throughout their lives.
Severity of Symptoms: Symptoms in puppies are typically more severe, while vaccinated adult dogs may experience milder forms of the disease.
Treatment and Recovery: Puppies often require more intensive and prolonged care, while adult dogs tend to recover faster and with fewer complications.
Preventing Distemper in Dogs at All Life Stages
The best way to protect your dog, whether a puppy or an adult, from distemper is through vaccination. Puppies should begin their vaccinations as early as 6 to 8 weeks of age, with boosters as recommended by your vet. Adult dogs should receive regular booster shots to maintain their immunity. Additionally, itβs important to practice good hygiene and avoid exposing your dog to high-risk environments, especially if they are unvaccinated or immune-compromised.

The much-anticipated ππππππ ππ πππππ πππππππ πππππππππππ ππππ is here, presenting a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise in cacao farming. This annual competition, organized by DTI Region 12, DTI RAPID Growth Project, DTI Region 12 Industry Development Division, the Department of Agriculture (DA), MinDA, and the SOCCSKSARGEN CACAO Industry Development Council Inc., aims to recognize and reward the finest cacao in the region.
This event is not only a competition but a platform for local cacao farmers to put their hard work and dedication to the test. Winning cacao entries will represent Region 12 in the prestigious Philippine Cacao Quality Award (PCQA) 2024, bringing regional cacao to the national stage. Exciting prizes await the winners, making this an unmissable opportunity for all cacao growers and processors in Region 12.
Key Details of the Competition
The competition will take place from October 7 to 11, 2024, and is open to all cacao farmers, cooperatives, and entities involved in cacao production and post-harvest processing within Region 12. To qualify, participants must meet certain criteria:
They must have at least two hectares of cacao farm.
Each participant is allowed to submit a single origin (single farm lot) of fermented cacao beans.
Submissions should be delivered to the nearest DTI 12-Provincial Offices, from where they will be forwarded to the DTI 12 Regional Office for evaluation.
This competition is an excellent opportunity for cacao farmers to gain recognition for their hard work and showcase their unique products. Each entry must be 10 kilograms of fermented cacao beans, packed in a plastic bag and jute sack, and will be evaluated by a panel of judges.
Submission Process
To participate, farmers must ensure that their cacao beans meet the following submission requirements:
A single entry per participant, submitted by October 11, 2024.
Beans must have a moisture content between 6.7% and 7.5%.
Along with the beans, a registration form and a certificate of origin signed by the Municipal/City Agriculturist Officer must be submitted to verify that the beans were grown on the declared farm area.
Each entry will be assigned a control number to maintain anonymity during the judging process. This ensures a fair evaluation, with the identity of the participant only revealed during the announcement of winners.
Evaluation and Selection Process
The Region 12 Cacao Quality Competition uses a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process to determine the best cacao beans. The competition judges will evaluate entries based on three key criteria: physical evaluation, a cut test, and organoleptic evaluation.
Physical Evaluation: This is the first stage, where entries will be assessed based on their physical attributes, including size, weight, and appearance.
Cut Test (40%): Only the top 10 to 15 entries from the physical evaluation will advance to this stage. The cut test evaluates the internal qualities of the beans, such as fermentation quality and consistency.
Organoleptic Evaluation (60%): The final evaluation focuses on the flavor, aroma, and overall quality of the cacao beans. This is the most critical part of the judging process, as it determines the final winners.
Representatives from the DA, MinDA, and DTI will observe the evaluation process but will not participate as panelists, ensuring objectivity and transparency throughout the competition.
Prizes and Recognition
The top 4 winners of the Region 12 Cacao Quality Competition will be officially recognized and awarded. The winners will receive exciting prizes and the honor of representing Region 12 at the Philippine Cacao Quality Awards (PCQA) 2024, scheduled from November 13 to 27, 2024, in Davao City.
Being part of this prestigious event offers farmers a unique opportunity to elevate their cacao to a national platform, opening doors for greater recognition, potential partnerships, and business growth.
